JULIA ANGELARD WITH A GOOD RESULT IN THE FOURTH ROUND OF THE ITALIAN ROK

  • Last weekend brought Julia Angelard a solid result during her start in the ROK Cup Italia series.
  • Thanks to her driving, the 13-year-old Pole is currently in 10th position in the general classification, being the highest classified among female competitors.
  • The driver representing JSTR by Jastrzębski Racing now has a month’s break from competition, before returning to the tracks in mid-June.

Last weekend, some of the karting competitors competed in the first round of the Polish Karting Championships, while others competed on the international stage. Julia Angelard reported to Jesolo near Venice to take part in the fourth round of the ROK Cup Italia, proving once again that she has incredible racing pace.

Good pace all weekend
The racing weekend for Julia Angelard started off really well – in the official training session she took fourth place in her group, losing only 0.224 seconds to the leader. Eighth place in her qualifying group allowed her to start at the front of the pack for both heats. In the first one, after starting from 10th place, she moved up to fourth position in just two laps, even riding in the TOP3 for a while. The second heat didn’t quite go the way the 13-year-old Pole had hoped, but she was able to maintain her starting position, finishing 10th in a 24-person field.

The combined results of the three heats shaped the starting grid for Sunday’s final – thanks to her good results, Julia started from P8. Unfortunately, the chaos at the start of the race on her lane of the track caused her to drop to 13th place. However, the Minardi Management protégé started to fight her way through the field with determination, eventually crossing the finish line in 10th place among 34 competitors.

As in the previous round at the Franciacorta circuit, this time Julia was accompanied on the track by Maya Weug, the current leader of the F1 Academy general classification. The Ferrari academy member shared her many years of experience and good advice on driving.

Julia Angelard: it was a successful competition
“It was a really successful competition. The first heat went great, I had good pace, a few nice overtakes and thanks to that I advanced by 6 positions. The second heat and the final could have gone a bit better, but I lacked a bit of luck and pace in the first part of the final race. Due to the crowd at the start on my side of the track, I lost a few positions, which I then gradually made up, but there was an appetite for more. Overall, I consider the competition a success, I scored valuable points, thanks to which I advanced in the general classification and I am currently the fastest girl on the track! – Julia Angelard does not hide her joy.

Thanks to the good results of the last round, Julia Angelard is currently in 10th position in the general classification of the series, among 72 competitors. What is more, she is the highest classified girl in the entire group. The Minardi Management protégé now has a month’s break ahead of her – Juli Angelard will return to racing in mid-June, as part of the 2nd Round of the Polish Karting Championships at the Poznań Circuit, to take part in a night race a week later in Lonato as part of the ROK Cup Italia.
