PUSHING AT THE FRONT AGAIN – LESSONS FROM VALLELUNGA ITALIAN F4 ROUND 2 – VALLELUNGA CIRCUIT
Luka Sammalisto continued his strong form in the 2025 Italian F4 Championship with another weekend fighting at the front of the field. Following his competitive showing in Misano, the Finnish driver proved once again he belongs among the frontrunners — this time at the technical and demanding Vallelunga Circuit.
Front-Row Speed in Qualifying
In tricky conditions after a rain shower, Luka and the US Racing team made the right strategy call during qualifying. Luka delivered when it mattered, securing P2 in his group and P3 overall — his best qualifying performance of the season and a clear sign of his growing pace and confidence.
Race Weekend Recap – From High Hopes to Hard Lessons
Race 1 saw Luka holding strong in P3 and showing great pace throughout. With just over three minutes and one lap to go, a small mistake unfortunately ended his race — a tough pill to swallow after a podium-worthy performance.
In Race 2, Luka was running in P2 when he was hit from behind by another driver in the opening lap, forcing him to drop to the back of the field. He fought back with determination, but the incident put him out of contention for a top result.
In Race 3, Luka was forced to start from P22 due to the earlier results — but he delivered a standout drive, gaining 13 positions and crossing the line in P9, scoring valuable championship points and proving once again that the speed is there.
Despite the setbacks, Luka remained positive:
“It’s frustrating to miss the results when you know the pace is there — but mistakes happen, and it’s all part of learning. We’ll take this and come back stronger in Monza.”
