JULIA ANGELARD READY FOR THE FIA EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP

  • After a rainy, challenging Champions of the Future round at La Conca, Julia Angelard remains at the Italian circuit for another race weekend.
  • The 14-year-old protégé of the ORLEN Motorsport Academy will take part in the first of four rounds of the FIA Karting European Championship.

Julia Angelard isn’t slowing down – after competing in seven events already in the 2026 season, the fourteen-year-old Pole will be back on the karting track next weekend. This time, the ORLEN Motorsport Academy and More Than Equal protégé has her sights set on the FIA European Karting Championship, which will take place at the same venue where the first round of Champions of the Future is just wrapping up.

The rain spoiled plans, but left us optimistic
Although the teenage Polish driver’s  times during the training session placed her in the middle of the pack, the unpredictable and capricious weather decided to play its cards on the La Conca track. Heavy downpours and alternating wet and drying out the track conditions made it difficult to choose the right tires or compete in a tight, competitive field. As a result, after unsuccessful qualifying, Julia Angelard struggled in each heat to stay on track, avoid her rivals, and try to climb the field.

The experience gained this weekend, however, may pay off in just a few days – Julia Angelard remains on the Kartodromo La Conca track, where the first round of the FIA Karting European Championship will take place from April 9-12, 2026. Drivers from the OK Junior and OK categories will compete. Despite the disappointing result achieved in the first round of the Champions of the Future, the teenage racer remains optimistic.

At the same time, as part of her participation in the More Than Equal program, Julia Angelard is preparing to transition from karting to racing cars and open-wheelers. In just a few days, the competitor will undergo two more days of driving tests conducted by MTE.

Julia Angelard: The pace on the dry track was good

“It was a difficult weekend, full of challenges due to unpredictable weather. I gained 10 positions in one heat, but bad luck in the other two pushed me down the standings. The pace on the dry track was good, so I’m optimistic about the upcoming European Championships on the same track,” admits the Minardi Management powered by Dag Ltd. driver.
