JULIA ANGELARD FOCUSES ON GROWTH WITH MORE THAN EQUAL
- Immediately after finishing the FIA Karting European Championship round, Julia Angelard travelled to Manchester to take part in the More Than Equal Assessment Camp organised by MTE.
- The aim of the training camp is to check how the program participants have developed physically over the last few months and to set development priorities for Q2.
Although she spent last weekend on the karting track competing in the first round of the FIA Karting European Championship, Julia Angelard isn’t holding back. From April 13-15, 2026, the Orlen Motorsport Academy protégé will participate in the three-day More Than Equal Assessment Camp, organized by MTE in Manchester.
Straight from the track to development camp
Despite the teenage Polish driver’s pace on the Italian La Conca circuit, she ran out of luck this time. A mere 0.415 seconds behind the leader in qualifying gave her a good result, though the strong field with minimal time differences made it clear that it wouldn’t be easy.
After the quali (divided into three rounds), the competitors are then divided into six groups, each competing in five round-robin races. Unfortunately, contact with other competitors and collisions, which deprived the teenage athlete of any chance of competing for good positions, resulted in her ending her competition in the qualifying races, with no chance of competing in the final section.
Despite the demanding weekend, the teenager is optimistic about the upcoming training camp in Manchester. The aim is to assess how the participants have developed physically over the past few months and to prioritize their development for Q2. Recognizing that fitness is a key element of Formula 4 performance, the camp also aims to help drivers understand their own bodies’ capabilities and discover what it takes to compete at a world-class level.
On Tuesday evening, the project participants will also travel to Sheffield to join the British Boxing National Team for a day of intensive sports activities. The program includes joint training with their academy athletes, sessions with their support team, and additional strength and conditioning sessions.
Julia Angelard: The pace on the dry track was good
“It wasn’t our week – we had the pace, but we ran out of luck. There’s no time to worry, though – now we’re off to the training camp in Manchester, and then it’s time for Valencia. A huge thank you to the entire team for the incredible effort they put in during the first round of the European Championship. I hope that the training camp with MTE that has just started will bring a lot of positive emotions and activities that will help me develop, especially as I slowly begin preparing for the Polish Karting Championships,” admits the Minardi Management powered by Dag Ltd. protégé.
