LUKA SAMMALISTO ON THE PODIUM TWICE IN THE ITALIAN FORMULA 4 FINAL WEEKEND!

Luka Sammalisto ended the Italian Formula 4 season strongly in Misano. The youngster finished 4th, 3rd and 3rd in the three races over the weekend, climbing onto the podium twice.

The final weekend of the Italian Formula 4 season offered speed and excitement. On Friday, Sammalisto showed his potential by clocking the fastest time in both free practice sessions.
– The race week started with good preparation at Formula Medicin, and the feeling was immediately good. The team did a great job, and the car worked well from the start, says Luka.

The top speed did not quite materialize in qualifying, but Sammalisto was at his best in the races. In the first race, he made his way up towards the front by setting the fastest lap of the race and finishing fourth. In the second race, the Finnish driver battled in the leading group throughout the race and moved up to third place in the final moments. In Sunday’s final, he crowned the weekend with another podium finish – third place from fifth on the grid was a strong end to the season.
– In the first race, I had to fight a bit at the start because the tires didn’t work right away. But the pace was really good throughout the weekend, and with two podium finishes, I have to be satisfied, Sammalisto smiles.

At the end of the season, Sammalisto finished eighth in the overall Italian Formula 4 standings.
– The ranking doesn’t reflect our pace or potential. This season had too much bad luck and technical problems, but I learned a lot. The collaboration with US Racing worked excellently, and I developed a lot as a driver under their guidance,” Luka says gratefully.

His eyes are already firmly fixed on the future.
– Now we’re going to take a short break and focus on next season. Good things are coming – and my hunger for success is stronger than ever,” Sammalisto concludes.
