WHY IT’S IMPORTANT TO START AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE WITH A SUPPORT OF A MANAGEMENT FOR A YOUNG DRIVER?
After Giovanni’s opinion it’s very important for a young driver to be supported, because the motorsport is a very competitive and complicate environment and therefore knowing how to move through it taking advantage of his long years experience, knowledge and personal network can make at the end of the day the difference
Motorsport and Formula series in particular allow only few drivers to reach the top of the success
For sure a management isn’t a guarantee and only one part of the success, which has to be completed by the driver’s talent and capacity demonstrated on the track collecting good results
Unfortunately talent today is not enough
Motorsport and the step from karting to Formula is becoming more and more expensive, but nobody thinks about this when the kids are in the categories of Mini and OKJ
Normally when the drivers arrive to the category of OK they get for the first time really confrontated with the huge costs of Formula sport and understand that they will need immediately or more ahead support to be able to approach the next step
But at this age it’s becoming very difficult to get a young driver into a necessary Formula 1 team programme, an academy or in a private team support
WHAT IS THE ROLE OF A MANAGEMENT?
We, as a management of young drivers already from the category of Mini on, have to work hard and start to “present” our young talents to one of these F1 team programmes, academies or also private Kart or Formula teams
As early we find such a situation for young drivers and get explained why it’s important to invest in the driver’s future, as early the family has to support less costs by themselves
Giovanni Minardi has the opinion that the driver should concentrate on the races and we advise him how to present on and beside the track
We teach how to behave with the media and eventual sponsors / supporters and take care of his physical and mental fitness
For sure we cannot affect on the talent of a driver, but we can optimize and influence his behaviour and attitude
So our main goal is to create for young talents the best sportive opportunities
