KAROL BASZ GT OPEN CHAMPION. GIOVANNI MINARDI “DESERVES AN OFFICIAL CAR”
Karol Basz wins the GT Open Pro-AM title. At the wheel of the Audo R8 GT3 Evo 2, the strong Polish champion took the victory in race-1 in Barcelona, the seventh and final round of the International GT Open, concluding the weekend with fifth place in race-2 which gave him the title definitely.
For Karol Basz this is the first title in GT3, after the titles conquered last season at the wheel of the Lamborghini in the Super Trofeo. A result built with dedication throughout the season ended with two victories (in France and Spain) and second place in Portugal. Difficult moments were not lacking, such as at the Red Bull Ring and Monza, both of whom finished outside the points, but overcame with great stubbornness and decision up to the conquest of the first 2022 title.
Giovanni Minardi – CEO Minardi Management “A result that further strengthens the value of Karol, a guy who in all these years has amply demonstrated his speed skills. He has shown that he knows how to adapt quickly to very different cars. I’m sure the time has come to give him an opportunity with a factory car that can launch him towards professionalism, a goal he deserves more than many others ”
Karol Basz “It is a wonderful feeling to be able to go home and add the first GT3 title to the trophy cabinet. It is the result of a long and hard work with the entire Olimp Racing team. Thanks also to those who have been able to support me in the most difficult moments”
