The “Piero Taruffi” circuit in Vallelunga hosted Mattia Bucci in his latest test program scheduled for the 2022 sports season, with an eye to the future as regards the work to be done during the new year.

Mattia’s inexperience was an important factor during the two days of testing: for Mattia it was his first time on an international track. The difficulties encountered were useful in the growth path of the standard bearer, eager more than ever to get back on track after the winter break.

Mattia was assisted by AS Motorsport, a team that took part in the Italian Formula 4 Championship racing right in the racetrack located in Lazio.

Mattia Bucci: “I’m very happy with the work done on the track. In these two days in Vallelunga we learned about this new very important track, especially from a championship point of view. We covered a lot of kilometres, which add to my wealth of experience. Due to some technical problems we weren’t able to show our full potential, but I’m sure that, by continuing to work in this way, we will be able to bring home good results. I thank all my family, Giovanni Minardi and all Minardi Management, AS Motorsport and Andrej Slak, my sponsors and partners for the continuous support-shown-and-for-all-the-work-they-do.”

Giovanni Minardi: “There were some adaptation difficulties during these two days of testing, partly due to some changes in Mattia’s riding position and partly because, probably, there wasn’t the necessary adaptation to go out super satisfied with these tests. We found some things we need to work on and this is important given the lack of experience Mattia has with the new Tatuus. These tests have shown us more precisely the particularities to improve: we would all have been happy if the chronometer had set a faster time, but they are called ‘tests’ precisely because we have to try and see where we have to work. Now we are waiting to know our chances for 2023, so as to be able to create the best prerequisite for working at our best: now we are going on vacation and next year we will start again meaner than before.”
