MATTIA BUCCI AND DL RACING TEAM UP FOR THE 2026 ITALIAN GT ENDURANCE AND SPRINT CHAMPIONSHIPS
The young driver from Abruzzo will compete on the Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2
Mattia Bucci has just made his contract with the DL Racing team official. The Pescara-born driver will soon be on track for pre-season testing, ready to take on this new challenge on the circuits that have shaped his professional career. This is a turning point for him, as he won’t be competing in just one championship like in previous years, but will compete in both Endurance and Sprint series.
The team founded by Diego Locanto, with which Lamborghini has partnered this year to compete in both series of the Italian Grand Touring Championship, is embarking on the most significant evolution in its history. They have inaugurated a new, modern 2,000-square-meter headquarters in the province of Ancona, which will house the factory dedicated to Lamborghini programs, including workshops, technical areas, spaces for driver athletic training and a simulator room. Alessio Canonico, a prominent figure in the racing scene, will coordinate the technical department and manage the team’s ambitious racing program.
Bucci will soon take to the track for his first tests behind the wheel of the Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2, the pinnacle of performance for Lamborghini’s one-make series. The design, curated by Centro Stile, is not only a statement of aggressiveness (with the distinctive “omega” front end and extensive use of carbon fiber for the bodywork) but also an example of aerodynamic excellence designed to optimize airflow and cooling. Under the hood beats the proven 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10, capable of unleashing 620 hp, delivered to the ground through a 6-speed X-Trac sequential gearbox. For Mattia Bucci, it’s the perfect vehicle to tackle the most important challenge of his career.
“Joining the DL Racing team is a source of pride for me; it will be a crucial season for my career, given my presence in both championships, and I’m confident that by working together we can achieve excellent results. I can’t wait to get on track for the first pre-season tests!” Mattia claimed “I thank DL Racing and Giovanni Minardi for the opportunity I’ve been granted.”
