MCLAREN CROWNED CONSTRUCTORS’ CHAMPION, RUSSELL TRIUMPHS IN SINGAPORE

McLaren seals the 2025 Constructors’ Championship, but it’s Mercedes and George Russell who steal the spotlight in Singapore. The Brit dominated the weekend, securing his fifth career victory. Verstappen finished second, clawing back some points on the two McLaren drivers, while Lando Norris completed the podium ahead of his teammate. A disappointing weekend for Ferrari, plagued by both poor performance and reliability issues. Meanwhile, Alonso, Bearman, and Sainz all managed to score points once again

GIOVANNI’S COMMENT
The 18th round of the F1 World Championship delivered yet another dull race, with little action apart from the opening laps, where Norris and Piastri finally decided to fight like two drivers battling for the title. After that, the race settled into the usual monotony, with teams sticking to conservative strategies and tyre management once again dominating the narrative.

McLaren may have won the Constructors’ title, but the team disappointed in Singapore. The two drivers made contact at the start, with Norris coming off worse. Despite that, he managed to stay ahead of his teammate for the entire Grand Prix, recovering some valuable points in the Drivers’ standings. Piastri, shaken by the early incident, opted for a cautious approach, bringing the car home safely.

The weekend, however, belonged to Mercedes and George Russell. Car number 63 delivered a stunning pole position on Saturday and followed it up with a masterclass victory on Sunday. His teammate Andrea Kimi Antonelli also scored solid points, finishing just behind the top four.

Verstappen once again outperformed the capabilities of his car, securing second place and fending off Norris’s attacks. He gained a few more points, though the championship fight remains extremely difficult. Tsunoda had another anonymous outing.

Ferrari showed promise on Friday only to disappoint again on race day. Leclerc expressed frustration with the team and endured another lackluster performance. Hamilton fought with Antonelli but later received a track limits penalty after brake issues hampered his pace.

Aston Martin continued its up-and-down season. The team found some form in Singapore, but only through Alonso, who fought like a lion to claim crucial points for the Constructors’ standings. Stroll, meanwhile, was again nowhere to be seen.

A strong weekend for Haas, with Ollie Bearman scoring two valuable points. The British rookie continues to impress, consistently outperforming more experienced drivers like Ocon. Another great drive came from Williams’ Carlos Sainz, who, after being disqualified from Saturday’s session, started from the back and charged into the points. His teammate, however, disappointed once again, making headlines only for a huge lock-up that nearly took out a Sauber.

The Swiss team struggled in Singapore. Hülkenberg, after his Silverstone podium, finished once again out of the points, dropping from P11 to last. Bortoleto also struggled and failed to make an impact.

Alpine’s disastrous season continues, with another slow and disappointing performance.

Lastly, Racing Bulls came close to the points: Hadjar was narrowly beaten by a flying Sainz, while Lawson, hampered by a poor strategy, lost a potential top-10 finish after running between eighth and ninth for much of the race.

MAYA WEUG SHINES IN SINGAPORE, WINS AND KEEPS THE TITLE FIGHT ALIVE

Maya Weug – F1 Academy, Singapore

RACE 1: P2
RACE 2: P1

A standout weekend for Maya Weug on the streets of Singapore, where the Dutch driver showcased all her talent and determination by claiming pole position, second place, and a race victory across the two races of the weekend.

Friday began in the best possible way, with Maya delivering a perfect qualifying lap to secure pole position. In Race 1, contested with a reversed grid, she started from eighth place, but thanks to a brilliant start and decisive overtakes in the midfield battles, she fought her way up to second, despite several interruptions caused by the Safety Car.

In Sunday’s race, Maya started from pole once again. A tricky start initially put her under pressure, but as rain began to fall, she seized the opportunity, pulling off a spectacular last-lap overtake to take a crucial victory in her championship campaign.

Thanks to her excellent performance in Singapore, Maya keept her championship hopes alive, narrowing the gap to series leader Doriane Pin to just nine points. Everything will come down to the final round in Las Vegas, where Maya will be determined to fight until the very end for the title.

JULIA ANGELARD NARROWLY MISSES THE FIA KARTING WORLD CUP FINAL

  • The FIA Karting World Cup competition that ended last weekend was a successful debut for Julia Angelard in her new team colours.
  • The Ward Racing rider was one of three Polish representatives competing in the OK-N Junior category and narrowly missed out on a place in the finals.
  • Despite considerable bad luck in the qualifying heats, Julia Angelard is happy with her result and is optimistic about the next races in the yellow and black suit.

The FIA Karting World Cup, which concluded last weekend, brought plenty of excitement, including for the Polish competitors. Julia Angelard, one of three Polish drivers competing in the OK-N Junior category, made her first appearance in the new team colors of the Swedish Ward Racing team. The teenage Polish driver successfully demonstrated solid pace, but bad luck in the qualifying heats meant she narrowly missed out on the final race.

Good pace and unlucky heats
During the first training session, Julia Angelard achieved a strong result in her group, placing her seventh out of 27 competitors. Eleventh place in her group during the qualifying session was also a positive, considering the competitive, strong field, largely composed of the best competitors from the national championships. Unfortunately, difficulties arose during the individual heats.

Although Julia finished 11th in the first heat, she dropped to 16th in the second. Unfortunately, during the third heat, the Polish rider was involved in a collision, losing a chance to earn valuable points. Tenth place in the penultimate heat gave hope for a coveted final in her debut competition with the new team. Unfortunately, three laps before the end of the final heat, the 13-year-old Pole was carried off the track by another rider, again failing to reach the finish line – which unfortunately proved crucial in the fight for the final.

In Sunday’s Super Heat A, Julia started 25th and climbed to a respectable 12th place, unlike her rivals, avoiding mistakes and capitalizing on theirs. However, as it turned out, after both Super Heats, Julia Angelard was 38th in the provisional overall standings, with the top 36 drivers advancing to the finals. She missed out on just a few points, which were within reach in both unlucky heats.

Julia Angelard: a truly successful
“Making it to the finals in my first event with a new team, in a new kart, is a truly successful debut. It’s a shame about the unsuccessful heats, because the FIA Karting World Cup final is a race everyone would love to participate in, but I’m happy that I managed to find my pace and flow quite quickly, both on the track and in my relationship with the new team. I hope things will continue to improve in both cases,” admits Julia Angelard.

TARIQ SHINES IN BAHRAIN, WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP RETURNS TO CREMONA. FINAL RACE OF THE SEASON FOR GRABKO, PUJATTI FIGHTS AT IMOLA

A new weekend and new races for our drivers. This weekend, Tariq Soofi is back on track in the Rotax Max Challenge in Bahrain. Final race of the year for Grabko in the Nordic Aquila Formula 1000 Series. Pujatti returns to action at Imola in the Porsche Carrera Cup Italy. Intense battles also in the FIA Karting World Championship, with several drivers competing.

Tariq Soofi – Sakhir Rotax Max Challenge, Bahrain – Mini Category
RACE 1: P3
RACE 2: P7
A positive weekend for Tariq Soofi, back in action in Bahrain for another challenge in the Rotax Max Challenge. The young driver immediately showed great pace, remaining consistent and competitive in the top positions throughout the weekend.
In Race 1, Tariq impressed with brilliant overtakes and duels, securing a well-deserved podium. In Saturday’s race, starting from pole position, he faced an intense battle: after dropping to fifth, he managed to climb back to third. However, a penalty relegated him to seventh place.
Despite the setback, Tariq once again demonstrated his strong potential, competing on equal terms with older and more experienced rivals. His performance in Bahrain raises expectations for the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals, also held at the Bahrain circuit, where Tariq will aim for a standout result.

Deven Grabko – Nordic Aquila Formula 1000 Series, Falkenberg (Sweden)
RACE 1: DNF
RACE 2: P14
RACE 3: P14

Final round of the season for Deven Grabko, competing at Falkenberg in the Nordic Aquila Formula 1000 championship. The Swedish driver had a challenging weekend, starting with a difficult qualifying session that left him 16th on the grid, hindered by multiple red flags and interruptions.
In Race 1, after a promising start, Deven was forced to retire due to a technical issue. In Races 2 and 3, starting mid-pack, he fought back to finish 14th in both heats, showing determination and good race management.
This event closes Grabko’s rookie season in the series – a year marked by some unlucky episodes but also constant growth and competitive pace, impressive for a first campaign in the championship.

Nicholas Pujatti – Porsche Carrera Cup Italy, Imola (Italy)
RACE 1: DNF
RACE 2: P9

An intense weekend for Nicholas Pujatti, racing at Imola in the Porsche Carrera Cup Italy. In qualifying, the team opted for a bold strategy to attack the top spots, but it didn’t pay off, forcing him to start from the back of the grid. In Race 1, Nicholas was caught in a contact that put him out of contention. Despite shoulder pain from the incident, in Race 2 he gritted his teeth and unleashed all his talent: starting P19, he produced a spectacular comeback to finish ninth.
A strong ending that once again confirms Pujatti’s speed and resilience, proving his ability to fight back with determination after a tough start to the weekend.

Zack Zhu – DNF – FIA World Cup, Cremona (Italy), OKNJ Category
First of the drivers to hit the track in the FIA Karting World Cup at Cremona, Zack Zhu endured a difficult weekend due to changing weather. After a promising start on dry conditions, rain disrupted the proceedings. Starting from the back in the final, Zack had no real chance to fight for his usual positions.
Nevertheless, the young French driver displayed speed and determination, highlighting both his potential and areas to improve, particularly in consistency. His first World Cup appearance provided valuable experience to build on for future challenges.

Julia Angelard – DNQ – FIA World Cup, Cremona (Italy), OKNJ Category
The second Junior driver competing at the FIA Karting World Cup in Cremona, Julia Angelard faced her first test against world-class competition, also marking her debut with her new team. The weekend saw mixed performances, but the young Polish driver showed speed, determination, and mental strength. She missed the final by just two positions, narrowly missing what would have been a major achievement.
Despite the disappointment, the outcome is positive: this world event is a key milestone in Julia’s growth, offering experience and motivation to aim for strong results next season.

Benjamin Westwood – DNF – FIA World Cup, Cremona (Italy), OKNJ Category
Among the Junior competitors in Cremona, Benjamin Westwood had a weekend of ups and downs. After a strong showing on Friday and Saturday, including progress in wet conditions, Sunday proved more difficult. Involved in two incidents during the Super Heat and final, Benjamin couldn’t capitalize on his earlier pace.
Despite the frustrating end, the overall balance is positive: Benjamin showed clear growth compared to previous events, both in speed and racecraft. With his maturity and progress, he can look forward with confidence to future goals.

Jason Kosmopoulos – DNF – FIA World Cup, Cremona (Italy), OKNJ Category
A prestigious return to racing for Jason at the FIA Karting World Cup, where he impressed with speed, consistency, and strength. He achieved access to the final, a significant result at this level. Unfortunately, a contact in the last session forced him to retire.
Nonetheless, his performances confirm Jason’s talent and potential, giving him a strong foundation to build upon. The result at Cremona is an important step forward as he now looks ahead to the WSK Final Cup and prepares for the 2026 season with growing ambitions.

Nefeli Kosmopoulos – DNQ – FIA World Cup, Cremona (Italy), OKNJ Category
A demanding weekend for Nefeli, returning to action at the FIA Karting World Cup in Cremona after only three races this season. The lack of race preparation compared to her rivals made it tough, but she tackled the challenge with grit and determination, improving steadily session after session.
Although she didn’t achieve a standout result in the standings, the event was a crucial step in her development. Nefeli made important progress in pace and confidence, despite limited racing this year. She now turns her focus to preparing for the WSK Final Cup, a key opportunity to continue her growth.

Daniele Schillaci – DNQ – FIA World Cup, Cremona (Italy), OKN Category
The only driver of the agency competing in the OKN category at Cremona, Daniele Schillaci had a mixed weekend. After a strong Thursday and positive free practice sessions, Saturday proved difficult, with uncertain weather affecting qualifying. The heats then made recovery difficult, preventing him from reaching the final despite showing solid pace early in the event.
A disappointing result, but still an important step in Schillaci’s career: he will take lessons from this world experience to face future challenges with greater confidence.

JULIA ANGELARD WITH A GOOD PACE AT THE SLOVAKIA RING

  • The past fourth of six rounds of Champions of the Future Academy once again confirmed the solid pace of Julia Angelard.
  • On Saturday, despite unsuccessful qualifying and being eliminated at the start of the first heat, the 13-year-old Polish competitor fought her way from the back of the grid to 11th place in the final.
  • Julia’s equally solid runs on Sunday resulted in sixth place in the next final race.

The September round of the Champions of the Future Academy, held at the Slovakia Ring, provided another opportunity for the Champions of the Future Academy drivers to demonstrate their pace on a track that unexpectedly appeared on this year’s calendar. Julia Angelard made excellent use of this opportunity, making her debut at this karting track and clearly demonstrating on both days that she is one of the fastest drivers in the field.

Saturday and the bad beginnings of good
Saturday’s qualifying session unfortunately didn’t end well for the teenage Polish driver. Julia Angelard got stuck behind another driver, losing pace and unable to complete a fast lap. Her opportunity only arose as the qualifying session drew to a close. Starting from the back of the grid and being eliminated from the first heat on the first lap, however, clearly whetted the Polish driver’s appetite for a top result. In effect, Julia moved up to 15th place in the second heat, only to overtake more drivers in Saturday’s final heat, finishing 11th.

Sunday’s competition and the fight for the top positions
Sunday’s time trial yielded a better result, placing the 13-year-old Pole in 12th place in the 23-driver OK-N Junior category. Although the first heat ended with a drop of several places due to a time penalty, fans witnessed an intense chase for the leaders in subsequent heats. In the second heat, Julia Angelard moved up five places to a respectable seventh place. Sunday’s finale was also a showcase for overtaking skills – Julia, after starting ninth on the grid, fought her way to sixth place. As a result, the Polish driver currently sits 14th in the overall standings after four of the six rounds of the Champions of the Future Academy.

Julia Angelard: It’s a shame about Saturday’s qualifications
“It’s a real shame I couldn’t perform at my best in Saturday’s qualifying session. If I’d managed to get a fast lap in time, I could have been fighting for the top spots from the start of the weekend. However, I’m happy with the experience I gained – it was great starting from the back of the grid, climbing up the ranks, and overtaking other drivers on the track,” emphasizes Julia Angelard, who will head to Cremona for the FIA Karting World Cup immediately after the Slovakia Ring round.

FORMULA DRIVER LUKA SAMMALISTO HAD A STRONG WEEKEND IN BARCELONA

Formula 4 driver Luka Sammalisto had an eventful weekend in Barcelona, Spain. Sammalisto finished fifth and sixth in two races, despite technical problems and changeable weather conditions over the weekend.

The weekend got off to a challenging start when free practice was cut short due to technical problems. This meant that qualifying was approached with a small risk and a limited number of laps. The final result was grid positions 10, 9, and 8.

  • “The weekend didn’t start according to plan. The first free practice session was mainly spent in the pits wondering about electrical problems with the engine. We tried to get everything we could out of the second run, but we had to go into qualifying a little blind,” Sammalisto says.

The team made major changes to the car for Saturday’s race, which significantly improved its speed. Sammalisto made a great comeback and finished fifth.

  • “The team did a good job and found the right settings for the first race. I got a good start and as the race progressed, I managed to save the tires whenever possible, which made overtaking easier until the end,” Luka continues.

In the second race of the weekend on Sunday, Luka’s pace continued to improve. Starting from ninth on the grid, Sammalisto drove convincingly to finish sixth. Fifth place was also within reach, but a safety car at the end of the race prevented any overtaking.

The third race had to be interrupted due to a violent thunderstorm and torrential rain. Sammalisto struggled with the electrical problems he had experienced in practice throughout the race and was in ninth place when the race was interrupted.

  • “Despite the difficult start, we were able to develop the car in the right direction and climb to a good points position. The race starts confirmed once again that our speed is close to the top, and this is a good place to continue to the next races,” Sammalisto concludes.

The final race weekend of the series will be held on October 10-12 at the Misano circuit in Italy.
